Beth Nodland. Bismarck native. Small Business Owner. Entrepreneur. Wife. Mother.
Beth Nodland is a Bismarck native and BHS graduate. After earning a Master’s degree and gaining professional experience, Beth came back to Bismarck because she believed in her hometown’s potential.
Since returning she has built multiple businesses and created good jobs for others in Bismarck. She owns and operates North Dakota’s only woman-owned archeological and environmental consulting firm, Bismarck’s only downtown co-working space, and a real estate holding company with commercial tenants.
In 2015, Beth was selected as the first North Dakotan to participate in the Goldman Sach’s 10,000 Small Businesses executive development program and received national mentoring to create a world-class growth plan for Juniper. She is the first of only two North Dakotans to graduate from that prestigious program.
When Beth and John began to search for a commercial property to purchase for their growing company, they knew that they wanted to locate in downtown Bismarck; they love the historic character of the buildings and the vibrant growth in the city’s center. They bought and are renovating an historic building, and they’re not done yet. Beth is truly invested in the success of Bismarck.
Beth is the only small business owner running for the Bismarck City Commission. She’s running for the City Commission because she wants to make sure our community wisely manages its growth. It’s a challenge she’s uniquely qualified for.
Beth and her husband are the parents of a 10-year-old son who attends Highland Acres Elementary School. They chose to live in that historic neighborhood because of the increasing number of young families moving in, the walkability of the neighborhood, and the excellence of the neighborhood school. Beth has been very active in the efforts to save Bismarck’s neighborhood schools. Beth and John have always looked for ways to give back and to be involved in the community: from filling and hauling sandbags during the flood to volunteering at the pumpkin patch. From sponsoring figure skating clubs and S.T.E.A.M carnivals to establishing an endowment for the Bismarck Public Schools Inclusive Sports and Recreation program. They have actively supported many organizations, entrepreneurs, students, small businesses, and families with members with disabilities.
